When I was a child, I had a dream of making my own clothes. I would spend my days designing clothes and coming with names for my imaginary fall collections. Making outfits for my dolls and stuffed animals was something I did often. Well now, it’s starting to happen.
Size Four Clothing will be upcycled clothing made new. I will take old and unloved clothes and give them a second chance. Whether it be adding some stitching or making them into something entirely new, these pieces will be one of a kind.
Stay tuned to hear more. Make sure to visit sizefourclothing.com and sign up to the newsletter to keep up to date.
As this is the only thing I’ve spoken about for the past 3 months, you’re probably aware that I am going to Nashville! In two weeks I will be getting on a plane and going to meet my best friend!
Yesterday I went on a shopping spree to buy weather appropriate clothes! I’ve never worn shorts in my life but I can’t wait for this new experience.
Side note: All links open in new tabs. So, either you’re welcome, or I’m sorry.
First thing on my list was rompers and playsuits. These are so cute, it’s a whole outfit and with the least amount of effort. I bought these two from H & M for £12.99. They’re super light and they don’t cling to your skin. They have an elasticated waistband, which my very one-like figure appreciates a lot. Oh! And the best part is, they have pretty deep pockets.
This is also from H & M for £12.99, I’m already seeing a theme occurring. They are floral dungaree shorts and I love them. Unfortunately, they don’t have pockets but they are made with a very floaty and flowy material so I can let them off. This type of floral print is my favourite, every summer I always make sure to pick up something like this.
These little crop tops from H &M for £8.99 are so cute. I feel the little tie in the front has been coming back into fashion for months now and with summer hitting us, I think these are perfect.
I can’t quite remember where I got these from (I think it was either New Look or H&M). They’re all just super basic t-shirts that’ll be great for all weathers. These will also get plenty of use when I’m back because I love owning way too many shirts.
I will also be taking shorts! This is mainly because I might die in anything longer and if I come back home with the same pasty white legs, my sister will 100% make fun of me. Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I have never worn shorts (by choice) in my life and so this should be fun. I only wore them in the changing rooms and they seemed to be comfy so let’s hope it stays that way!
Thank you all for reading! This isn’t everything I’m bringing, I also have a couple extra things but I didn’t take photos of those.
If you have stumbled on this post, you might be considering starting a journal. Or you have may have already started your journal and you wanted some insight into what other people’s reasons are for starting their journals. Whatever your reason is, welcome to my blog, I hope you have fun here.
Most people who know me will be aware that I keep many journals. I like to write, I like to create pretty things, and I like to seem a lot more organised than I actually am!
It may seem excessive, but I have a process so hear me out, I have three journals. Each one is for something different. I have a bullet journal, a writing journal and an art journal.
I have been keeping an art journal for many years now, I find so therapeutic to create pages and different layouts. In this journal, no two pages will look the same and that’s what I love about it. I could show this journal to someone and tell them a story about each individual page.
My art journal helps me keep my memories alive. I struggle a lot with forgetting big events that have happened in my life and now I don’t really worry about that anymore. Another thing it’s helped me with is finding my creative side even when I’m not working. Currently, most of my days are spent creating new websites for people, which takes a lot of energy, so staying creative outside of that was a struggle. It’s helped me a lot with disconnecting from work, because even though I love it, I don’t need to be thinking about it 24/7.
I hope to talk more in the future about my journal. It’s one of my prized possessions and sharing it with other people who also journal is quite refreshing.
Thanks all for reading, I’ll hopefully be back soon talking about what I’m taking to Nashville.
Currently, I live in England. It’s very windy, very wet and I’m not sure we’ve ever had a sunny day without losing our minds. Earlier this year, I made the decision to go to Nashville and finally meet my best friend.
Now, let me tell you just a little bit about her. She’s called Kitty, she has a love for cats and she loves Marvel. She also… lives in the very sunny city called, Nashville. As a British person, I felt it was important to start off this post, talking about the weather.
So on July 14th I will be getting on a plane all by self and flying over to her. I’m going to try and document everything that happens because I never want to forget this experience. I am so fortunate that I get to go and I can afford to travel that far.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be posting a lot more travel-related content so looking back at my posts it’ll be like a mini diary.
Welcome to Blogmas day one! I wish it was possible for me to write everyday but unfortunately, I know that it just isn’t possible. However, with that being said… it’s almost Christmas!!! So I will be doing a lot more posts about this lovely time of year – some Christmas themed and others not so Christmas themed.
The past few months I have been thinking about the decision of moving out of my family home and living by myself. As this thought was processing in my head I quickly realised that I knew nothing about interior design or how I want my future house to look.
I know this isn’t the biggest decision of someone’s life, but it definitely means something. Since then I have done what every blogger does and taken my worries to Pinterest. It was here that my obsession was born.
A glimpse of my future house will be many fairy lights, lots of blankets, wooden furniture and many many many photos. I feel like this style of farmhouse/rustic is fairly modern with the inclusion of fairy lights. Usually the style comes across as quite cold and uninviting, but recently the pins I’ve been seeing and the DIY projects have been very light and airy.
Thank you all for reading, I’ll (hopefully) see you again tomorrow.
Recently I’ve been in a very foodie mood. Everyday I’ve been stalking a different food related blog, Instagram and Tumblr accounts. I’ve been trying to find new lunch ideas to stop me from eating the same thing day in and day out.
Here’s just few that I’ve found so far:
Soup and toast
I know… I know… It’s so boring of me to even think about suggesting this, but me hear me out. It’s getting colder outside and winter is pretty much here already. The only thing I can think of to make this situation perfect is a steamy hot bowl of tomato soup and toast. Now, if you work in an office like me, you’re most likely not allowed a toaster (seriously, who on earth thought this was a good rule) so the steamy hot bowl of soup will have to do for now.
This one is my favourite! I am a very picky eater; I don’t like mixing foods. Recently for work I’ve been making bento boxes. These are essentially boxes of good snacks that don’t necessarily have to be eaten together. They are separated by little compartments so everything stays nice and neat.
Thank you for reading, I’ll hope to see you back soon,
When I was younger I loved to read. If you would ask my mother, she would tell you that she was able to put me in a corner with a book and I would be occupied for at least a couple of hours. I love the feeling of being completely captured by a book. Getting lost in my thoughts and zoning out is suddenly the best thing in the world.
Over my many years of reading, I have found, who I consider, to be my favourites. I could read these people’s work over and over again and never get bored of it. Every time I just fall in love with the words again.
First on my list is Cecelia Ahern. She is the author of one of my favourite book, P.S I love you. I first read this a couple years after the movie came out, when I was 12. This book is one that I have read again and again and could tire me. There have been a few time in my life where I’ve stayed up all night just to finish reading it.
JK Rowling is also one of my very favourite writers. She is (obviously) the author of the very famous Harry Potter series. I know that these books are aimed at children but honestly? I would quite happily sit on a train and read this series on my journey for all to see. Her writing is nice to read, I believe everyone should read the Harry Potter series – I guarantee it will make them fall in love with her writing and reading as a whole.
Although these two writers are incredible, my most favourite writer is my best friend. She hasn’t had anything published – yet, I’m still hoping though – but I’ve read enough of her work to know that I am completely and utterly in love with it. If I am feeling down or under the weather at all, then I know that reading one of Kitty’s pieces will make me feel alright again. Her work always manages to put a smile on my face. Kitty’s writing style is like nothing I’ve ever read before. You are able to feel every emotion that the character is feeling just by reading a couple of sentences. Kitty, if you’re reading this, please never stop writing!!!
Thank you for reading, I hope to see you next time!
In my life, I have only had to start over twice. Once when I didn’t do well in my A-Levels and had to move over to BTEC Media and then again when I fell out of love with writing.
Both times I didn’t want to start over. In 2014 when I found out my AS Level grades, I wanted to give up there and then. In my head, I had failed everything – my grades were good, but they weren’t good enough. But starting over a new course made me realise what I love most. It put me on a path where I fell in love with designing, filming and made me feel okay about the fact that I talk during movies (haha).
By this point, I had already been writing on my previous blog for about a year and a half. I thought it was the greatest decision of my life. I loved my blog, I loved the community, and more importantly, I loved writing.
Moving forward a few years, I started to become disappointed with the content I was creating. Other people seemed to be liking it. I found a trend with the posts that people were reading most and then I made my first mistake. I started to think of my blog as the start of a career, which is most certainly wasn’t.
I don’t want to blog for a living. I don’t even want to write for a living. I enjoy writing for myself and what I like. When I started looking at the trends and what was getting the most views, I very quickly fell out of love with writing and my blog.
Which is why I started over. Making a completely new blog has helped me understand what things I enjoy writing about. It has helped me grow as a person. So if you ever need to start over, it’s okay. You’re not moving backwards, you’re just experiencing new things and growing as an individual.
