My taste in music, like most others, in a little bit wild. I don’t stick to just one genre and my playlists definitely show that. I feel that this year especially, I have been listening to a lot of new stuff! I’ve found a lot of new artists that I absolutely love and a whole bunch of new songs that I am very excited to share.
This beautiful young singer featured on the hit TV show Nashville as the character, Maddie. While on the show, she showed the world how amazing she could sing. In 2018, she released her first EP, Love, me. This EP featured the song La Di Da, which is one of my absolute favourites. In March 2019 she released the single BITCH (takes one to know one).
Clare Bowen was also featured in Nashville as the character, Scarlett O’Connor. In 2018/2019 she released her debut album. The whole album is absolutely beautiful but two of my favourites are Tide Rolls In and Doors & Corridors. They both spoke to me in a way that the others didn’t. The final song on her album is called Warrior and pays tribute to when she had cancer and was given just two weeks to live. It was also dedicated to all the other children who weren’t as fortunate as she was and weren’t able to beat the battle.
Dreams by Luxtides
I have been listening to Luxtides for some time now. Danni was previously in a duo called Oh Honey but since 2017 she has been making her own music. In June 2019 she released the song Dreams. This song has a a lot of beautiful lyrics and melodies just like her other songs.
Miss Me More by Kelsea Bellerini
I’ve only recently started listening to this artist but my absolute favourite song of hers so far is Miss Me More. I can relate to this song on a very personal level. The first time I listened to this song, it immediately resonated with me. Kelsea sings about how she lost herself in a relationship and now she misses herself; she misses how she used to be before the person came into her life.
