2018 in Review…

It’s January 3rd and my fiancée is at work. I’ve been browsing people’s blogs and taking a look at what everyone did during 2018 which inevitably inspired this post.

2018 started out to be an interesting year… and not in a good way. My anxiety was the highest it had ever been and my motivation for life itself was very quickly diminishing. There were several factors for this that I may talk about in the future but for right now they shall stay where they belong, in the past.

As the year went on things started to get better. I got to see dodie live again with one of my best friends, Rae! I wore my bisexual flag as a cape and sang at the top of my lungs. It was one of my favourite shows and I am so happy I got to go.

Other artists I got to see were Halsey (for the first time ever!) and 5sos. These shows were both with my fiancée and some of the best nights of my life. 5sos were particularly special as that was the night I proposed! It was during Better Man and she said yes!

Another big thing that happened in my life in 2018 was that I got to travel so much more than I ever imagined. I had the opportunity to go to Prague, Budapest and Nashville. I also stopped in Orlando (the airport…) and Atlanta. To visit these places was such a privilege and I hope that this year I will get to see more parts of the world.

The biggest thing to happen to me during 2018 was packing up my life and moving to the United States. While this was a hard decision and not one I made lightly, so far it has definitely been worth it and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. After being in a long distance relationship it feels so nice to be able to wake up to the love of my life and fall asleep with her too.

In the first three days of 2019 I can see that this year is probably going to be a good one. I’m feeling good, my mental health is doing okay for the most part and I am happy. I hope you had a good 2018 and here’s to a safe and happy 2019.
